Value

Unlike Off-the-Rack (OTR) aka RTW (ready-to-wear), MTO are made specially just for you. Machines designed for mass-produced shoes are alien to us and so because we make shoes almost entirely by hand, any alteration to the already established pattern, colorway, or process to suit your style will make your made-to-order items more valuable than the next guy’s glossy-looking shoe on the train.

Cost

Although limited mostly to aesthetic changes, like fabric or leather types and colors to use, and sometimes your own logo or initials, they are still more expensive than OTR depending on the level of personalization. The added costs are justified since the product is almost entirely made from the scratch (but unlike Bespoke, and that’s another good topic and services we can offer to you maybe in the future). Pricing should not be as complicated as the customization; we will try to make it as straight forward as possible.

Timeline

The length of time to make MTOs are also longer than usual, from one week to month. Unless you asked for a very specific detail like the exact texture and pantone color of the leather, we can normally get the colors and leather type closest to the request. Every additional detail also means extra hands and time to execute your creativity, and may cost you more.

Customization

You will need to have at least a basic understanding of what you are seeking to accomplish. Fitting is standard to the style we offer for customization, while other details such as materials and colors are either limited or all-out to your liking per items listed on MTOs. Once you’re ready, we will be guiding you all throughout the process and be in contact along the way. MTOs are final and non-refundable.
